Verona’s tree protection, removal and replacement ordinance aims to regulate and control cutting of trees on private property and encourage property owners to preserve and build around tree when possible.

Preserving trees, when possible, helps to:

• Stabilize soil to help prevent erosion
• Reduce stormwater runoff
• Purify air and creating more oxygen
• Reduce noise pollution
• Increase property value
• Increase aesthetic value of your town's appearance

What should I do if I want a tree removed on my property?

1. Select a tree contractor from Verona’s Licensed Tree Companies (see list below)
2. Apply for a permit
