The Township of Verona is planning for a cleaner, more sustainable future—and resident engagement is an important part of the process.
During the Monday, July 6 Township Council Meeting, DMR Architects will present a draft Community Energy Plan, which will become a roadmap outlining energy and sustainability initiatives Verona Township plans to pursue over the next three to five years. Developed through a collaborative effort involving Township Administration, Sustainable Verona, community stakeholders, and DMR Architects, the plan identifies strategies to improve energy efficiency, expand renewable energy opportunities, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and position Verona for future clean energy grant funding.
The draft plan, made possible through a grant from New Jersey's Clean Energy Programâ„¢ includes initiatives such as expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure, improving municipal fleet efficiency, supporting community solar, upgrading energy efficiency in municipal facilities, and increasing outreach to residents and local businesses about available energy-saving programs.
We encourage you to join Monday's Council Meeting (7.6.26) or review DMR Architects' presentation and plan linked below to learn more about the proposed initiatives. Community interest and participation are essential as Verona continues to build a more sustainable, energy-efficient future for generations to come.
