
Lessons are led by Star Fish Aquatics instructors and vary depending on skill level ranging from Beginner to Intermediate/Advanced and finally Stroke Development. Lessons take place three days a week for approximately 45 minutes in the morning before the pool opens to members. Upon registration, we ask that you please choose the appropriate class level for your child. The first session is an evaluation session to ensure your child is in the proper level class. This is done one at a time to ensure proper placement and a safe experience.

Private/individual lessons are offered by Verona's certified lifeguards and are available during regular pool hours, Whether you're aiming to learn how to swim, refine your stroke or fit in some extra practice these sessions can be curated to meet your needs. Individual swim lessons are exclusively available for Verona Pool Members only.

Swim lessons for children who learn, behave or move differently. This program is designed to help children of all abilities learn how to swim and be safe in and around water. Classes take place in a more low-key environment with less noise and distraction. Instructors are experienced working with children with disabilities and special pool equipment and toys that facilitate water acclimation and learning to swim are used. This program is designed for children with anxiety, fear of water, autism spectrum disorder, sensory challenges, physical challenges, coordination delay and motor skill challenges.

Join a specially designed adult exercise program with certified trainer Paul Binder. This class is designed to help you stay active, strong and healthy with low impact exercises and movements in the water. Registration opens April 15th via Community Pass, under the Verona Waves 2026 Season Information. Please note there is a capacity for the maximum number of participants. If that limit is met, further registrants will be placed on a waitlist. If a spot opens up, they will be notified via the phone number associated with their Community Pass account.

All swimmers who sign up for the Waves (or Mini-Waves) who have NOT been a member of the travel team in the past will need to attend the morning swim evaluation. During this time, swimmers will be evaluated for readiness for both the Mini Waves and or placement on the Verona Waves Swim Team. Attendance at the evaluation does not guarantee a place in either swim team program. Swimmers will be notified via email.

If your child is 10 years or under and is interested in a less competitive, more recreational environment, then the mini-waves swim team is an excellent option. The Mini-Waves follow the same practice schedule as the travel team but will focus on stroke development. The young swimmers will have an opportunity to race in a non-competitive atmosphere throughout the month of July with (dates TBD). Mini Waves starts at the end of June and lasts one month.
