In accordance with the requirements of the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code (UCC), all inspection requests must be submitted in writing. Inspection requests may be submitted in one of the following ways:

The following are REQUIRED inspections pursuant to NJAC 5:23-2.18 for NEW BUILDINGS, ADDITIONS, RENOVATIONS & ALTERATIONS. Â Â
1. Building:Â Footing bottom of trench, and rebar if applicable PRIOR to the pouring of concrete.Â
2. Electric: Rough wiring for all fixtures and trenches if applicable. Electric finalÂ
3. Mechanical: All duct work, exhaust fans, motors, and dryer vents. Before sheet rock. Mechanical final
4. Plumbing: Rough installation; air test for gas piping, water test for water piping, waste and vent piping and trenches if applicable. Plumbing final
5. Fire: Rough location of all fire protection equipment, including smoke alarms Fire final *Please note all manufactured fireplaces are subject to rough inspection as per the UCC. Â Kitchen hoods over 400 CFM require permit.
Note: Â Zoning approval is not an approval to start building. All drawings must be approved by the required disciplines and a building permit must be issued. Â Other inspections may be required depending on the scope of the project. Consult the Subcode Officials if you have questions.
