The Verona's Mayors Charity Affair

Mayor Teena Schwartz announced that the annual charity affair for 2010 will be
held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 with “Jazz in the Garden Brunch” from 11am to 2 pm
at Mayfair Farms, 481 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, NJ. Cost of the brunch is
$75 per person. An Ad Journal will be offered as an opportunity for individuals,
businesses, and community organizations to support the charity affair.
The purpose of the Mayor’s Charity Affair is to
raise funds that will be donated to Verona organizations and programs that reach
all residents. The recipients are determined by the mayor and her committee.
This is the 17th annual Verona Mayor’s Charity Affair.
This years Mayor’s Charity Affair will continue
the tradition of honoring the individuals, organizations, and businesses of
Verona who have contributed to the growth and well-being of our community over
the past year. The 2010 honorees are Santi Condorelli, Steve Janett, Kurt
Landsberger, Verona C.H.I.L.D., Investors Bank and the Verona Environmental
Commission.

Online Registration For Recreation Programs Now Available
The
following programs will be available for registration at this date;
All soccer programs, Flag Football, Cross Country, Karate, Adult

Recycling Center
The Recycling Center is open Wednesdays & Saturdays from 8:30
a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Residents can bring Bottles and Cans,
Corrugated Cardboard, white office & computer paper, mixed paper,
Telephone books, brown paper grocery bags, batteries and motor oil.
Effective January 1, 2009 Electronic Equipment will no longer be
placed at the curb for pick up. Electronic equipment may be brought
to the recycling center on Commerce Court for recycling and
disposal. This includes, monitors, computers, TVs, etc.

Walgreens
Walgreen’s on Claremont Avenue has a limited number of
injectable flu vaccines which they are offering to persons 18 and
over but under 64 years of age and also pregnant women and persons
with health conditions. Supplies are limited and there is an
administration charge of $18.00. Walgreen’s is open on Saturdays
from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and daily hours or other information may be
obtained by calling Walgreen’s at 973-559-0901.
