Monsignor Fasani from Verona, Italy Visits Verona Public Library

Today, Verona had the privilege of welcoming Monsignor Fasani, the prefect of the Biblioteca Capitolare in Verona, Italy. This library, celebrated as the oldest operating library in the world, is home to many historical treasures including manuscripts that date back to 500 AD and some of the earliest documented evidence of the Italian language being derived from Latin.

Verona's Mayor Tamburro, Deputy Mayor McEvoy, and Councilwoman McGrath were present to extend a heartfelt welcome, joined by UNICO's Verona Chapter, which highlights Verona's commitment to nurturing international cultural relations.

This visit was largely made possible through the dedicated efforts of Verona's UNICO chapter and Bill Connell, a professor of History and the La Motta Endowed Chair in Italian Studies. UNICO also generously contributed to support the Biblioteca Capitolare and Seton Hall.

This event not only celebrates Verona's rich heritage but also fosters new friendships across the seas. We are honored to share this connection with Verona, Italy, and we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped make this day unforgettable.
