Verona Announces John LoCrasto as the 2025 Grand Marshal for the Memorial Day Parade

LoCrasto, a Verona resident since 1960, attended FN Brown, HB Whitehorn, and graduated from Verona High School in 1966. During his school years, he actively participated in various sports, including football, basketball, softball, and soccer.

In June 1968, John enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seabees and was deployed to Vietnam, where he served as an equipment operator with a small detachment located five miles south of the DMZ until October 1969. He continued his military service from 1969 to 1974, completing two years of active duty and four years in the military reserve. 

In 1971, he became a member of Local 825 Operating Engineers, eventually retiring as a business representative after an impressive 54 years.

LoCrasto has remained committed to community service by coaching Verona Baseball and Football. He has served on the recreation committee and is currently an active member of Verona’s Flood Advisory Committee.

Verona's Memorial Day Parade will start at Everett Field on Monday, May 26th at 10am. Ceremony will be held at Town Hall (600 Bloomfield Ave) following the parade.
