New Employment Opportunity: Part-Time Public Information Officer

The Township is seeking a part time Public Information Officer (PIO). Responsibilities include press releases, emergency communications, public event coordination and establishing good working relationships with the media and the public, monitoring and maintaining all social media platforms, and maintenance of the Township’s website and other duties as assigned. The PIO shall write short narratives and post photographs and other visual graphics as necessary on the Township’s internet website and related social media platforms. The PIO will work with the Administration and Department Supervisors.
The preferred candidate must have extensive social media skills, web site expertise, PowerPoint presentation experience, excellent computer and writing skills. The PIO shall use digital technologies for the purpose of reporting on resident and community issues. Must have basic video and graphic editing skills. Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field preferred. Graphic design, Microsoft Publisher and/or experience with other graphic design programs is a plus. Prior experience in public relations or a similar position within local government is a plus. Must possess a valid NJ driver’s license.
