NATIONAL NIGHT OUT: TUESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2019 FROM 6 PM - 9 PM
All residents of Verona are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across 16 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide to participate in National Night Out.
National Night Out is nationally sponsored by NATW, Ring, Dietz & Watson, Associa, AT&T, A&W Root Beer, Renewal By Andersen, Academy Sports & Outdoors, and co-sponsored locally by the Township of Verona, Verona Police Department, Verona Fire Department and Verona Rescue Squad.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work. Together, we are making that happen.
Many communities celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and more.
Verona will hold its National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 6-9pm at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Ave. Verona is focusing on spotlighting all emergency services. Our celebration will feature demonstrations and exhibitions from Verona’s Police, Fire and Rescue Departments. In addition, the US Army, a Police K-9 unit, Essex County Sheriff’s office, the State Police, a Medevac Helicopter and Backpacks For Life will all be present. Demonstrations will include a vehicle extrication, CPR, all vehicles and equipment, live responses and much more! We will have tons of other family friendly activities, including children's inflatables & games, food trucks, obstacle courses, and a “Dunk a Cop” activity. Please bring the whole family for a fun night while supporting Verona’s emergency service personnel.
THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE. Indoor activities will still be available in the case of rain.
