SENIOR CENTER Verona Senior Citizens The following is a list of upcoming events for any and all Verona Senior Citizens: Monday, May 12-Mark & Julie’s in West Orange for home-made ice cream-noon May 19-Essex County Environmental Center-“Container Gardening”-FREE-you MUST register before May 12 by calling 973-857-4832 May 20-Stroke Screenings-$20.00-Register in office-LIMITED APPOINTMENTS. May 21-Good Nutrition for Today’s Senior-1:15 (immediately following the senior meeting) FREE talk presented by Mountainside Hospital Registered Dietitian. May 22-pack a lunch and visit our own beautiful Verona Park-bus leaves at about 10:00am and returns at approximately 1:00pm. Call for reservations starting May 7. Limited seating. Call that morning to register. Monday, June 2-Applegate Farms at noon-call that morning to register. Tuesday, June 3-9:00am-2:00pm--trip to the shore-Driver’s Choice of location Begin registration on May 21. Weather permitting. Monday, June 9-Annual Pool Party at the Verona Pool-FREE and open to any and all Verona Senior Citizens. You MUST register in advance. REGISTER NOW!! 973-857-4832 Thursday, June 12-second trip to the shore if registration warrants and weather permitting. Driver’s choice of location-lunch on your own. Weather permitting. Monday, June 16-Rita’s Ice at noon-call that day to register Monday, June 23-Mark & Julie’s in West Orange for homemade ice cream. Call that day to register Monday, June 30-Friendly’s in West Caldwell for lunch and/or ice cream at noon. Call that day to register. Through a generous grant from VMAC (Verona Municipal Alliance), the Senior Center now has a wonderful collection of informational pamphlets ranging from Coping With Grief and Loss, Living With Someone Who is Depressed and Anger Management to Help With Sleep, Stress Alleviation and Relaxation Techniques. All are available on the Senior Citizen display counter in the hall outside the offices in the Community Center.
