-The Verona Council Reorganization ceremony and meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 6:30 PM on the steps of Town Hall, 600 Bloomfield Avenue. In the event of rain the ceremony will be moved to the Council Chambers.
The Township of Verona is served by a police department consisting of a Police Chief, 31 sworn officers, three full-time professional dispatchers, three administrative personnel, 32 school crossing Guards, and a full-time Emergency Management Coordinator and Communication specialist. The police department is located in the Municipal Building at 600 Bloomfield Ave. and has a separate public entrance on Bloomfield Avenue. There is a full-time detective bureau that handles all adult and juvenile complaints and follow-up investigations. The DARE Program has police involved in our schools with students in grades one, two, five and seven. Police personnel are also available for home safety inspections as part of our crime prevention program. Also infant car seat inspections are available for our residents.
