Rutger’s Coaching Class
The Verona Recreation Department is sponsoring a Coaching
Certification Class on Thursdays, February 18 or Thursday, March 18
at 7pm. The clinic will be held at the Community Center and is given
by a certified clinician trained by the staff at the Rutgers Youth
Sports Research Council. The class is provided in accordance with
the New Jersey State Little League Law. The clinic focuses on five
aspects of coaching. Those aspects are medical, legal, first aid,
training & conditioning and the psychological aspects of coaching.
After completion of the three-hour class, the coach is registered as
a certified coach with the Sports Research Council. The coaches will
receive a packet from the Research Council. That packet is provided
free of cost by the Verona Municipal Alliance. Included in it is
coaching text book, class manual, certification card and patch.

Township recreation programs, it is the policy of the Township of
Verona to conduct a criminal history record background check on each
prospective and current volunteer/employee participating in any
Township endorsed or sponsored programs that provide recreational,
cultural, charitable, social or other activities or services for
persons younger than 18 years of age.
