The Zoning Department governs residential zoning and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The Zoning Officer determines if proposed construction work to be done or use of buildings follows the township’s zoning ordinance. A variance may be required and must go before the Board of Adjustment for approval if codes are not met. The Zoning Officer provides inspections and enforcement for planning applications. The Zoning Administrator provides assistance with zoning applications and serves as the secretary to the board. The board is made up of volunteers appointed by the Mayor and Council and meets the second Thursday of every month.
